Rotary Riding to Bicycle is a community initiative supporting school-going girls in the southern Terai region of Nepal by improving access to education through safe and reliable transportation.

In many rural areas, girls walk long distances—often 3 to 8 kilometers daily—to reach school. Combined with household responsibilities, safety concerns, and poverty, these challenges frequently lead to irregular attendance or complete dropout. For many girls, this marks the beginning of a limited future.

When a girl stops going to school, her opportunities for higher education, skills development, and employment become very limited. She is more likely to face early marriage, economic dependency, and continued poverty. This cycle often repeats across generations, affecting not only the girl but her entire family and community.

This project directly addresses these barriers by providing bicycles to help girls reach school safely and consistently. Each bicycle costs USD 100, which includes the purchase of a bicycle, basic repair tools, and training on bicycle maintenance and safety.

Our vision is simple yet powerful: no girl in the southern Terai should lose her education because of distance. By keeping girls in school, we are not only supporting education—we are creating confidence, independence, and a stronger future for entire communities.
